The other day someone asked me what does it mean when I say I’m a Hood Hippie. This got me to thinking that as much as I have said it, I’ve never truly explained what it means.

To me being a hood hippie is about more than smoking weed and listening to trippy music. It’s about having a relationship with the universe and your fellow humans. It’s about seeing the world from the perspectives of those around you and not focusing solely on self.

It’s about not letting your environment determine what kind of individual you have to be in life. Experience the world, step outside of your comfort zone and the stereotypes and preconceived ideas of who you must be based on your background.

Be open minded, show love and kindness, and always strive to do better tomorrow than you did today. Be conscious of the energy that you release into the word and the energy that you allow to enter into your space.

Be positive and productive if you are hoping to achieve prosperity. Chase your dreams, set goals and work until you reach them. Never give up on your passions. Sacrifices may have to be made in order to reach the levels you are climbing for but remember that everything happens for a reason.

Those are the qualities that I believe are necessary to identify yourself as a Hood Hippie. I’m still striving everyday to be this ideal type of person, I make mistakes (as humans are known to do) but I’m always trying my best not to repeat them. Do you think that you fit the description? Stay Lifted,

Laidback Mack
