The Mississippi House and Senate have both voted and passed a bill that will give business owners in the state the right to refuse service to gay patrons citing religious beliefs as the reason. The bill only needs the signature of Governor Phil Bryant to take action and he fully plans to sign.

This is wrong! For Mississippi to be so full of “Christians” teaching to love your fellow man they still discriminate every opportunity that they can. There are many things the government is getting approved right under the nose of the people that will effect a great deal of us in a negative way. How can we stand by and let them treat human beings like this? If it was so easy for them to write a bill that took away the rights of one group of people; what makes you believe that they can’t impede on yours as well?

This is a slippery slope that we are currently perched on. It seems like there is always a new law in motion that is either disenfranchising one people or giving out rights to some but negating the rest. Citizens of Mississippi must open their eyes and realize what is going on. This Religious Freedom Restoration Act could be the first in a series of laws that will slowly revoke rights from people and no one is going to fight against it until it becomes an immediate issue for their demographic.

However, I believe that if I stand blindly by and let them do this to individuals in the Gay community then they could very well be talking about denying rights to Blacks for various reasons. Maybe they’ll say that since some Blacks are involved in crime they can deny them service because it violates their morality beliefs.

Don’t be fooled people, this is not a law that is gonna be in place to protect your “values”. The government legislators simply wanted to see what the people would let them get away with before they start the truly outrageous changes. Don’t let the government believe that the people are docile. Fight the power! Fight for the rights of yourself and others!
