SilaS had an amazing 2016 and it looks like if he’s going to continue the trend this year. His second single off of his critically-acclaimed project “The Day I Died” is the fan-favorite track “The Wiz”. The song features bouncy production by Durdy Costello which samples the 1973 film of the same name. The beat is so infectious and the flow pairs perfectly to get the crowd going every time he performs it live. Cinematography duties were handled by The Anime MC’s constant visual collaborators, The Dark Brothers.

In the video, we see him strolling down the brick-paved Farish St. here in Jackson, MS. He is later joined by The Scarecrow played by Flywalker, The Lion played by PoloBaybee and The Tin Man played by Ricky Rich. That’s a great lineup that shows the wide variety of successful artists here in the city. The visual effects help to turn West Jackson into an otherworldly setting that the four of them can traverse. The purple tint to the trees was an especially nice touch.

Later, SilaS rocks the stage at the now closed Big Sleepy’s downtown. The energy of the crowd is true to what it’s like experiencing a concert from the Hip-Hop trumpeter. Check out the full video below and listen to his project “The Day I Died” on Dear-Silas.com if you haven’t already:
