Malcolm Morrow is a native of Jackson, MS and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He has been working as a freelance journalist since 2013 when he earned the opportunity to be a blogger for Dr, Boyce Watkins’ Your Black World Network. During this time he developed his voice as a writer and began to have a serious interest in journalism.
Using the skills and experience he gained during his time at YBW, he started his own blog called TheHoodHippie.com. It is a site dedicated to exploring the music, art, entrepreneurship and culture of the growing independent creative industry.
His blog has afforded him many opportunities in his hometown and he has become a respected member of the journalism community.
In addition to his blog, he writes music articles for the local alternative press and profiles on tech, art, and music for a local publication. He also writes scripts and variety of Youtube video types, assists with editing and re-writing screenplays, is developing a web series script, is working on two original comic scripts and is a contributor to TheGamer.com.
Malcolm is always looking to expand his skill set as a writer and becoming involved in new creative projects to challenge his personal limitations as an artist.
