Clarence B. Honer Junior ,22, a.k.a Young Cee has passed away after being involved in a fatal car accident early Saturday morning in Brandon, MS. The young wordsmith was said to have crashed into a power line, which fell onto the box truck he was driving and electrocuted him.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Cee’s death. He had so much talent and all of the potential to make all of his dreams come true. From the first time I heard him spit; I was amazed at his skill and versatility. He would destroy his verses and sing his own hooks with ease. When I covered his mixtape that was released earlier this year, “The Mornin After”, I knew he had plenty  more music to come and that the quality of his content could only get even better than the high bar he had already set.

My heart and condolences go out to his family and his fellow G.R.O.U.P. Nation members. I know that this must be an extremely difficult time for them all. I would just like to encourage them to stay strong and rest easy knowing that Cee is in a better place. Keep your heads high and make sure that his legacy carries on.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with Cee’s music I have compiled some of his material that you NEED to check out in rememberance of this young artist that was taken away too soon:

Here’s the link to Cee’s latest mixtape “The Mornin After”:

You can also check out http://thegroup601.bandcamp.com for Cee’s complete discography and features with G.R.O.U.P. Nation.

Here’s a track featuring the two dopest collectives in the Jackson area, G.R.O.U.P. Nation and R.ich O.ff C.lass, “The Final Boss (Judgement Day Cypher)”.

G.R.O.U.P. is also planning to drop one of Cee’s unreleased tracks tonight at 9 p.m., so stay tuned to see what the big homie left behind for his fans.

After I featured Cee on the site a few months back and I never would have thought that the next time I wrote about him it would be a post like this. All I can say is #RIPCEE.
